Beast In Black Premiere Debut Single

Facebooktwitterpinteresttumblr

One of the latest additions to the Nuclear Blast Records roster is the former-Battle Beast-guitarist-formed heavy group known as Beast In Black. The Helsinki Heavy Metallers were founded by Battle Beast’s Anton Kabanen in 2015, and now, with some solid gigs including an opening slot for Nightwish under their belt, the band is preparing for their debut album to be released in the fall. Berserker is the name, and “Blind and Frozen” is the first single, for which a music video directed by Ville Lipiäinen (Nightwish) has already been released. Taking a classic heavy metal sound to heart with a contemporary power metal touch, “Blind and Frozen” is streaming via the Nuclear Blast Official YouTube Channel. Anton Kabanen says of the track, “‘Blind And Frozen’ is a super catchy and massive song. Yannis’ interpretation and performance here is nothing short of pure perfection!”

Berserker was produced by Anton himself, and his comments on the record are: “It’s very straightforward, catchy and powerful and occasionally mixed with some symphonic influences…Many songs such as the title track, ‘Beast In Black’, and ‘Zodd The Immortal’, are strongly influenced by the Japanese manga and anime Berserk.”

Berserker will be out on November 3rd, and the record is already available for pre-order physically through the Nuclear Blast Shop via Beast In Black’s website, and digitally via iTunes (affiliate link). You can keep an eye on https://www.facebook.com/beastinblackofficial for updates.

Appice to Perform Debut Album at Select Live Shows

There’s something “sinister” on the way from a project formed by two legendary figures in the rock and metal worlds…and they just happen to be brothers who are both drummers. Appice is the name, and Carmine and Vinny have signed to the SPV/Steamhammer label to put together a debut album under their new moniker. Sinister has a long list of guests to round out the collaboration, which Vinny sums up nicely by stating, “As Ringo said: with a little help from our friends.” The full lineup of the record is as follows, classified by instrument:

Carmine Appice (drums & vocals)
Vinny Appice (drums)

Jim Crean (vocals)
Paul Shortino (vocals) (Rough Cutt, Ex-Quiet Riot)
Robin McAuley (vocals) (MSG)
Chas West (vocals) (Ex-Lynch Mob, Resurrection Kings)
Scotty Bruce (vocals)

Craig Goldy (guitar) (Ex-Dio, Ex-Giuffria)
Bumblefoot (guitar) (Sons of Apollo, Ex-Guns N’ Roses)
Joel Hoekstra (guitar) (Whitesnake)
Mike Sweda (guitar) (Bulletboys)
Erik Turner (guitar) (Warrant)
David Michael Phillips (guitar) (King Kobra)

Tony Franklin (bass) (Ex-Blue Murder, Ex-The Firm)
Phil Soussan (bass) (Ex-Ozzy Osbourne)
Johnny Rod (bass) (King Kobra EX-WASP)
Jorgen Carlson (bass) (Gov’t Mule)

Erik Norlander (keyboards) (Lana Lane)

Fans may notice that among the list of “vocals”, one included name just happens to be Carmine’s, to which Vinny responds, “Carmine has been singing lead and background for years. He’s a very good singer and I’m glad he sang one number on this record.” Sinister‘s 13 tracks are sure to give ample time for the illustrious list of guests to show their talents, and October 27th marks the official release date. Before then, however, Carmine and Vinny are hitting the road very soon for three special exclusive tour dates in which they’ll perform Sinister live. In order to catch one of these special events, you’ll have to be in the right place at the right time to see the Drum Wars and those “right places” to be are:

Cutting Room – New York, NY – 9/22
Tupelo Music Hall – Derry, NH – 9/23
Vamp’d – Las Vegas, NV – 9/29

If you’re a west coaster, or happen to be visiting at just the right time, you might also have the chance to be a part of Sinister in a unique way, as Vamp’d will set the scene for a music video shoot for the track “Monsters and Heroes”.
Amidst all the news, the only piece of information on Appice that has not yet been revealed is exactly how to say the name of the band – but then again, that likely depends on which brother you ask.

Sinister is available for pre-order on Amazon now. Head to http://www.carmineappice.nethttp://www.vinnyappice.comhttps://www.facebook.com/steamhammerofficial/, and http://www.spv.de for more info.

Babylon A.D. Release New Video for Upcoming Record “Revelation Highway”

Facebooktwitterpinteresttumblr

All original members with all new material, Babylon A.D. have recently announced the upcoming release of their latest albumNot too long ago, the band released LIVE@XXV to celebrate their 25th anniversary of recording together. Now, on November 10th, 2017, Revelation Highway will mark the 30th anniversary of Babylon A.D.’s formation with a 10-track release on Frontiers Music Srl. For the first look and an early taste of the high-powered Rock’n’Roll Babylon A.D. has to offer on Revelation Highway, check out the music video for the opening track, “Crash and Burn“.

Here’s a statement from frontman Derek Davis on the band’s latest work: “This record kicks ass, from the opening track ‘Crash and Burn’ to the last track ‘Saturday Night’. The band had a blast making the album and a lot had to do with original founding member lead-guitarist John Matthews rejoining the band. He really lit the fire that got the bands blood pumping to make a new record. For me it was awesome to produce and mix such a cool record. It’s very hard hitting yet melodic, with some great lyrical story telling and great stand out tracks like, ‘One Million Miles’, ‘Tears’, ‘Rags to Riches, and ‘She Likes To Give It’. The songs are so catchy and memorable on the first listen I know our fans are gonna love it! And of course there are some burning guitar leads to keep the metal heads happy. The band is very grateful that Frontiers Music Srl listened to the tracks and felt the same way about them as we do and offered us the opportunity to get this record out. We can’t wait to hit the road and play the material live.”

And hit the road, they will. Babylon A.D. has just a few live dates announced so far for the UK and Europe, but plans for further touring are currently in the works, including a US run. Revelation Highway is available for pre-order now in CD & Vinyl form via the Frontiers Music Official Shop and digitally via iTunes (affiliate link).
