Cavalera Conspiracy

Cavalera Conspiracy, the band and project formed by Sepultura’s founding brothers, Max and Igor Cavalera, teased the prospect of a new album a few months back. Now things are official, as a new studio album has been announced under the title Psychosis. Napalm Records is the label providing the home for this, the fourth effort from Cavalera Conspiracy, produced in conjunction with the band’s personal friend, Arthur Risk. Here’s some of what Max Cavalera has to say about the record: “The album right now is finished…There are nine songs. We’ve got one song with Justin from Godflesh –  just a great Nailbomb, Godflesh, Cavalera kind of song. The rest is all pure thrash madness. And we had it mastered a couple of days ago by Joel Grind from Toxic Holocaust; he mastered the album. And it’s great, man. It’s a beast of an album. I think a lot of people are are gonna be surprised when they hear it. It’s, for me, the best of all the Cavalera albums, my favorite one”.

Devil You Know Renamed Light The Torch

Facebooktwitterpinteresttumblr

Light The Torch

Devil You Know has been revamped, at least in name, as the group consisting of former Killswitch Engage frontman Howard Jones, ex-All Shall Perish guitarist Francesco Artusato, and former bassist for Bleeding Through, Ryan Wombacher, is now going by the name Light The Torch. They’ve released the following statement indicating the reason behind the change:

“After member issues and legalities continued for a year with no end in sight, we collectively felt it was time to put DYK to rest. Every effort was made to avoid this decision, but it needed/had to be done for the sake of moving forward. We will be forever grateful to those of you who shared that journey with us. With that said, we decided that this was a perfect time to write and record something truly different, something that reflected what we have been through and what we have become. Our new album is almost done being mixed, and there will be many more details coming in the following days and weeks. We are LIGHT THE TORCH. See you soon.”

As you can see from the band’s statement, a brand-new full-length is also on the way – but Devil You Know songs will certainly not be wiped from the band’s setlist. You can see further details and more about the newly renamed Light The Torch at their official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LightTheTorchOfficial.

The Agonist may have released their latest album Five in 2016, but it’s carrying on strong in 2017 as a new music video for one of the tracks has just been released. “The Raven Eyes” is the song to come off the Napalm Records release, and you can check out the clip on the label’s YouTube Channel. The Agonist guitarist Danny Marino has given a closer look into what’s behind this particular track: “Writing this was a departure for Vicky and I but it may have been one of the most rewarding as songwriters. It allowed us to explore sounds and emotions we’ve always wanted to but could never quite get to in a metal setting. Also, working with Igor Khoroshev (Yes) really helped bring out the full depth of Vicky’s piano and string arrangements. The lyrics were originally inspired by stories of the renaissance plague doctors. FTB Visuals was able to take these themes and create a modern world storyline with an equally dark overtone that captured the painful emotions in the song.” The band is getting ready to kick off a Canadian headlining tour in just a couple of weeks, starting things out in their very own hometown of Montreal, Quebec on August 4th – the tour runs for the whole month of August.
