Europe Revisit “The Final Countdown” on 30th Anniversary
The Time Has Come – Europe celebrated the 30th Anniversary of their iconic album The Final Countdown at the end of last year with a grand-scale show in London. Now, in just a matter of days, the recording of this performance will be released for fans to relive, or to see for the first time. Taking place on November 12th, 2016, Europe rocked the night at The Roundhouse, playing The Final Countdown album in its entirety, alongside their most recent album War of Kings, also performed in full. The monumental night was captured by Patric Ullaeus of rEvolver Film Company AB. Europe will be “on the loose” with this 30th Anniversary show only for a limited time, and a trailer to preview the experience is streaming on the band’s YouTube Channel here. According to the clip, this CD/DVD release will be available on July 21st on Hell & Back Recordings, through Silver Lining Music – it’s available for pre-order here. Frontman Joey Tempest says of the record, “What an awesome night! It was more enjoyable than we thought to revisit the whole Final Countdown album live! On top of that, to be able to share our whole War Of Kings album with this amazing audience the same night just made this show one of the most memorable nights of our career!”
This is not the only recent news for Europe, as the band also announced not too long ago that they’re currently in the recording stages of a follow-up to War of Kings, with a yet-to-be-titled album in progress at Abbey Road Studios. There’s also no shortage of tour dates for their European and UK fans, as a slew of shows is already in store for the rest of the year.
