Stephen Pearcy Goes For a “Smash” Hit

Amidst legal battles galore and what seems like never-ending debates over the “real” band lineup, Ratt has been making headlines left and right lately. But this hasn’t stopped original Ratt frontman and founding member Stephen Pearcy from going full-force Frontiers to release his own solo album on the well-known rock label. This is the fourth solo album from Stephen Pearcy, but the first one that he’s made with Frontiers Music Srl. Smash is the title of the release, and the record was mixed and mastered by the bassist in Pearcy’s solo lineup, Matt Thorne as well as Pearcy himself. One track, however, got a special treatment for mixing and mastering – the song “I Can’t Take It” was handled by the same Producer who did the first four albums released by Ratt – the legendary Beau Hill.

Here’s what Stephen Pearcy had to say about the album: “It took long enough to finish the new record Smash and it is well worth the patience taken, giving every song as much attention as the next. Erik Ferentinos (lead guitars & co-writer), Greg D’ Angelo (drums) and Matt Thorne (bass, keyboards) and myself didn’t settle on any first, second or third takes. We let some songs grow if needed, then go back and complete it. We’re very happy with the outcome, that we were able to experiment and grow with the new songs.”

Smash Track Listing:

1. I Know I’m Crazy
2. Ten Miles Wide
3. Lollipop; Dead Rose’s
