Paradise Lost has some new Doom in store to unleash on the world as they bring “The Longest Winter” right to us in the middle of summer. This new track comes to us off of the band’s upcoming record Medusa, which is set for a September 1st Nuclear Blast Records release. The first single from Paradise Lost’s fifteenth studio album has been released as a lyric video today, and you can stream “The Longest Winter” on the Nuclear Blast Records YouTube Channel. Here’s what frontman Nick Holmes has to say about the meaning behind the track: “I read a story about how wildlife was once beginning to flourish in the 30-mile exclusion zone after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 – particularly the wolf population. It was nice to think that that no matter how much mankind tried to fuck the planet up directly or indirectly, life carries on in some shape or form. But humans are humans and I recently heard that there is already now ‘timed’ hunting trips organised into the exclusion zone…”

The band will also have an exclusive release show on September 1st for which fans are currently able to have a say in the setlist by voting here. They’ll then head out on the road with Pallbearer and Sinistro for a European tour.
